Our procedure for reconditioning cylinder heads:
- Heads are disassembled and thoroughly cleaned.
- All valves, springs, retainers cleaned separately.
- Gaskets removed and heads buffed of excess carbon.
- Spring Pressure: checked by Mechanical testor against OEM specifications.
- Valves:
- Wear checked
- Warped checked
- Margin checked
- Stem end refaced
- Face precision ground
- Head:
- Surface straightness checked
- Magnafluxed for cracks
- Guides checked for excessive wear
- Seats checked and ground to proper width and angle
- Studs checked for damage, proper heights
- Assembly:
- Valve stem heights checked and set
- Assembled to factory specifications
- Vacuum bench check for leakage between valves and seats
- Head is painted, then bagged for convenience
